Has anyone used the F1 Moto Powervalve arms? Curious if it makes a smoother powerband. Yes, I know that some people have had issues with the stock powervalve arms and with the first generation F1 Moto arms. Considering getting a set for my 150sx if people are having good luck with them. Let me know if you have any info. Thanks.

Also interested in how the F1 arms change the power delivery on the 16' 150 sx
This bike has a wicked mid hit that lights-up the rear tire
would like to smooth it out a little

You can soften the hit by going out on the powervalve screw.

I've found that going out on the powervalve adjuster (close to flush) from the stock position (in from flush about 5 turns) increases the hit in the mid. Over the past few years the feed back I've seen on forums is that going out from standard position increases the hit and going in smooths out the hit. I would record the current setting of your powervalve adjuster and go clockwise in small increments and see if it mellows it out. You can always return to the factory setting if needed.

I've thought about playing with the powervalve a little bit. It would be nice to have some more mid range hit. Right now it feels like it hits great on top, but id like to have just a bit more midrange/bottom hit. I'm putting on a lectron, v-force 4, and shorty silencer so that may help in the mid/ bottom range too. Thanks for your input.

The shorty for sure will give you better initial hit and throttle response. Takes away a tad bit from over rev I feel but I love mine.

The Lectron is known to mellow the power out compared to the stock carb. The Lectrons seem to work well on 250's on up but lose some torque on the smaller bore bikes. If you want more hit, okay with the powervalve timing and jetting.

I put a VHM head with a sx insert on my 17 150 xc-w along with VF4 reeds and a carb splitter on the reed side of the slide. (Machinist installed thin plate right in middle/top to bottom). pulls 1 gear taller going up steep trails compared to friend's TE 150.

I have a shorty on my 16 150sx , stk pipe .Have an LMS head insert . played with PV . Tried diff springs . stk spring is not good . like red spring best . Great btm power ( what I really wanted ). Actually great power everywhere . Would just like it to be metered out smoother mid to top . Think I may try one of the smoother needles ...Kehin 1467 , 1367 etc. or have the old red , blue jd needles also .

I didn’t have problems with my oem arms but wanted to try the F1 when doing a full rebuild. They work well, smooth, no problems. I got mine polished with my tranny parts.

Yeah I was also looking into a LMS head insert too, or maybe even a complete head. Did the head insert make much difference?

Yes it made a very big difference . people that ride my bike are very surprised . I tried the hotter head that you use 25% race gas to be sure it's safe .

Right now LMS is just making CNC inserts for the 125/150 2-piece heads but they are looking at making complete 2-piece heads for the 250/300 since they are 1-piece right now
