Just got my engine back from EG. What are the baseline jetting changes any of you have used. I'm just looking for a starting point with the stock carb.

IMO, the stock duel taper series needles that Yamaha uses in the 250 make the 295 engines hard to ride. If it were my bike, I would use a Suzuki NECJ #3 or NEDJ #2 needle, with a 40 pilot, and 168 or 165 main jet, along with a 40 power/leak jet. This will get you going safely in the right direction.

A #8 slide works very well the 295 configuration, but will also require a new non spring loaded cable holder, unless you cut your current oem #7 slide into a #8.

Call Eric. I bought a complete cylinder and top end for my YZ134 that didn't come directly from him, but was supposed to be his work. He emailed me the jetting spec in a couple of days.
Lots of info on thumpertalk on these kits too.
