Hi! Our 95 & 98 octane (regular gas in sweden) Will get a new mix of up to 10% ethanol instead of the old mix of up to 5% ethanol next month.

How Will this affect my bike? Currently got a yz250, is it still safe to use as normal or Will i have to change jets and more?

They still run, but don't leave the bike sitting a long time with ethanol in the bowl or you'll get corrosion of the brass parts.

You'll find that the rubber fuel lines harden up faster (if you already haven't had that issue with 5%).

Lots of people in the USA run 10% ethanol through their MX bikes with no major problems.
Being on the Pacific coast here, we have a lot of fuel stations selling ethanol free 92 octane.
I mix that 50/50 with 110 leaded race fuel for my YZ250 and YZ125.

Perhaps there's a marina or something like that near you that can supply pure gasoline?

Most US fuel is E10. You may need to jet a little richer but if you were already at E5 you may not see much difference.

Are you sure the 98 is going E10? I'm from the UK so might be different but the government website stated 95 is going E10 and 98 id staying E5?

quoted for truth. Reason is, E10 is slightly less energy dense.

Shut your gas off and run the float bowl dry. Other than that, jet accordingly.

im not 100% sure, i thought the 98 would stay E5 so no harm...but at the stations the stickers now already say E10 on both 95 & 98.

since E10 is "up to 10%" the 98 could stay the same but its a little unclear.

That's how it is here in the USA. Our stickers at the pump say "Contains up to 10% Ethanol..."

Also it oxygenates the fuel.

In the UK, unsure on Sweden, Esso still claim that although their fuel is listed as E10 (previously E5) it does not contain Ethanol, it just gets that rating as that is the standard now which means it can have a maximum of 10% Ethanol, and theirs meets that as it has none.

They are the only pump gas brand I am aware of to have made this claim, most others specifically say theirs DO contain up to or including the allowed 10% depending on brand.

they must include up to 10% now in sweden, our new idea to save the earth...

however if it goes under 5% i think they must brand the pumps with E5, thats what got me a little concerned about the 98 where on some places it says E10 on those aswell. might be miss labelled.
