Dremel on 2 stroke silencer?

A company near me takes a dremel to the silencer to make it increase back pressure or something. Anyways, the reason I am asking is cause it sounds awesome. It doesn’t make it louder but it gives it that raspy crisp sound. Has anybody heard of this. I believe what they do is dremel out the rubber seal and the very end but I am not sure.

Or does anybody know any tricks to make it sound this way? There is a video of Daryn durnham riding a cr 125 on YouTube. That is the sound I am going for. Except on a yz 250. And people say it is cause it is port and polish but mine is port and polished, raised compression on head and it has an fmf shorty. And it sounds d*** good but not the raspy sound.

125s and 250s sound different when they are "pinned" no matter what you do. As mentioned above though jetting does play a big part in how "crisp" the bike sounds.

Jetting is key, and personally I like oxygenated fuel, and fresh packing is always a good idea. On that note, how tightly the packing is makes different sounds too... as does adding some steel wool around core and then packing over that. Gotta play with different variants and see what works for you. Lots of little things that can add up to a properly ripping 2 banger.

No clue what they are cutting... or how hitting anything with a dremel is the answer to what you are looking for.
