What bike?
Is the cylinder plated?
2 stroke or 4 stroke?
Have you measured the cylinder?
Have you ever done a hone job before?

Measure things and refurbish to spec. Or buy a set of rings, head ,base gasket. Take some 600 grit wet or dry, spray the paper ,cylinder bore with WD40 and make several up and down passes ,while using a twisting motion. Wash the cylinder bore thoroughly, and slap it together.
May be a waste of time and money if the bore is toast. Try your luck.
It’s a 1989 Suzuki ds80 there is parts of the cylinder that are gold colour so I assume plated..? The piston measures 49mm but they sell 49 and 50 mm+ pistons would I be able to buy the 50 mm and hone the cylinder that extra 1 mm??? or would it be best to just get the 49mm and take a take a few passes with the 600 grit , im not sure how much better the cylinder will be after I hone it..
I’m new to the whole bike Seen I have a lot to learn
Appreciate the help guys
You can't hone it that much larger. A bore job is the only way, but again measure the cylinder before doing anything.

Hey guys just pulled my head and the piston looks good so just gonna replace the rings , I am gonna hone the cylinder as there is a little bit of scoring markes on the exhaust size not enough for a re bore I think, Can I just use any cylinder hone from amazon of the store or are they specific?
