Hi all...just bought my nephew a 2005 crf50. Bike is all stock, runs great except for one issue. Sometimes it will idle high for no apparent reason. Reading on the web it is a common issue, just do a carb rebuild. I hate working on carbs, but might be worth trying in this bike so I can maintain it for him. Any advice, or anything specific that causes the high idle problem? Or should I just pay a shop to do it? Thanks for any input my fellow dirt lovers!

Could be a lot of things. Leaky air boots, partially clogged or fully clogged jets, leaky choke. Usually i have my dads shop do any carb work because im not familiar with them and dont have a desire to learn lol. But yea if you learned to do it you can. Its not hard just takes some studying.
