I bought a barely used crf250l mostly to ride to work and back but also gonna do some dual sport trips with it, I have a rm144 and new crf450 I ride for mx and other stuff.

But the suspension sucks and I’ve found lot info online, but thought be worth shot to see if anyone on here has had one and what they’ve done to it, or what’s the best option, I don’t wanna sink a lot into this thing either. Not sure if only doing a shock spring and fork springs would do much

It's sprung and valved for about a 90lb rider stock... I'm not exaggerating.

I rode our service manager's who is half my weight and lowered and ripped some sand whoops and launched some drops in SoCal and didn't bottom it while it was still smooth on the road.

Spring/valving in the forks and revalve the stock shock if you don't need a ton of adjustment otherwise get a replacement shock. And very few of the replacement shocks are actually performance ready.
