Hey guys. I have a 2004 CR 250 and was tearing it down and found a crack in the frame. It’s on the head tube/steering tube what ever you call it. Has any one ever had this experienced this? Can it be welded and not mess with the steering stem bearings? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

Nope...don't have that welded. Replace the frame. First problem if you have it welded is it'll change the bore diameter where the head bearing sits. 2nd and far more concerning is that if you have it welded, you'll have a brittle area along both sides of the weld. It will fail catastrophically at some point, and when it does, whoever is riding it is likely to be seriously injured or killed. Not worth it
