Cracked KTM tank repair

Edited Date/Time 12/9/2020 3:59pm
Hello,
I had a look on the forum searching for a working technique to repair a bad crack in the tank of my 2013 KTM Sxf 450, but I didn't find anything encouraging.
The last post is from 2017, so I'm hoping some new magic glue appeared on the market in the meantime.
As you can see from the picture, the crack is where the tank is bolted to the frame.
This weekend I'll try to fix it with the help of a fiberglass based marine putty, like you see in the (italian) image.
Does anyone has a better solution?
My only current alternative is a used EXC tank as I can't find an SxF one, but of course the look is different
If someone has a used SxF tank, you're welcome to make me a quote.
Thank you

Buy a new one, I’ve had that happen to two oem tanks for my 14, nothing I tried would last longer than a couple hours.

I also believe it happens from over tightening that bolt.

I tried a couple methods and they all ended up leaking shortly after again.

Have to admit I anticipated your answers. Anyway I will give a chance to the putty and get back to you with the results.
Thanks

You can plastic weld it. I don't think there is an adhesive known to man that will work on plastics in the polyolefin family. I searched long and hard and concluded on plastic welding.

Plastic weld may work if you can get to the spot, which does not look promising from the photo.
You will not get any seal to hold as they are petroleum based as is gas.
I would plan on doing a tank replacement.

Flexseal! Just kidding, I would be looking on eBay for a tank.

So, I did the repair as intended and partially filled the tank without apparent leaks, but I know it’s too early. Still have to test the result on track as the weather here is miserable.
Will post an update when I ride it, guess in around 10 days looking at the forecast
