Coccyx protection

A freind of mine broke his tailbone (coccyx) and I remember hearing him say how awful (and slow) healing it was.

I'd like to get a high quality pad I can drop in my usual thin bike shorts, but don't know if anything like that even exists (that is worth the money).

Any other older riders use tailbone protection that doesn't involve full ballistic shorts?

I have those triple 8's but can't fit any of my moto pants on over them. Football pad may be an option...

I’m getting AzzPadz for my son who recently injured tailbone playing ice hockey, looks like a decent option without bulk., but those leg straps may be an issue we’ll see

I damaged my coccyx 10 years back, now I can't ride for 5 min before it hurts like hell. What I made myself was a 1" thick pad that velcro's into my riding pants, I have an oval hole cut out where my coccyx is, I can ride three times longer before the pain sets in.

The secret is to support around the coccyx, not have a pad over it, that transmits any force onto it.

My grandma broke her coccyx at the dunes. She does a lot of things you don’t know about.
