Hey, was just curious on how you guys clean your cranks?

I have the cases split on my 98 YZ250 and I want to clean the crank. Should I soak it in kerosene? Use soap and water and then kerosene? I don’t want the bearings inside to dry out so maybe spray with wd40 and then some oil?

I’m waiting on the transmission bearings so I can’t put everything back together right after cleaning.

Thanks

Kerosene works good. I would brake clean and use air to dry after. Then oil it good.

Sounds good. Picked up the kerosene and some brake cleaner yesterday. Now if I can work through this hangover and 100 degree weather I’ll be back in business lol.
