Castrol A747

Picked up a new bike today and the guy has been running Castrol A747 in it. Smells lovely but I've heard horror stories that it gums up the carb & it cannot be mixed with synthetic oil? Is this true? I did drain the small amount that was in the tank & flushed it through with a bit of neat fuel just to be safe.

Excellent oil. I was running all my 2 strokes on it in the UK with Shell Nitro/V Power. I always mix small batches of fuel as I need it and do not leave it sitting in the bike, so it's not really a problem for me, but castor based oils can separate in cold weather and when left for a long time. They also do not mix with other oils, so you've done the right thing by washing out with neat fuel if you're going to change to something else.
