Hi,
Chasing peoples input/opinions in regard to this being a poor quality copy or the real deal? I acquired it along with 80% of a 99 CR500 that came in boxes! The bike originated from the UK and ended up in Australia. Unfortunately, the person I got it from has no idea of the bikes history. All opinions welcome.
Cheers,

If that is a KLP item, you have a trick piece.

It looks similar to the replica coke bottle swing arms KLP Racing make. You could try contacting them to see if they made it or not. You scored on a $1500 swing arm if it was made by KLP racing. http://www.klpracing.com/id12.html

Good to see you took my advice, jkmr1 .

Hopefully, others here can give you solid advice as to who the producer may have been.

Look for any ID stampings / emblems, and post them up on this site . Someone here hopefully will know what you've got. Notably, as I wrote to you, Luckynino and Newman.

Since his fire, I've not seen any updates on KLPs site. The thing that has thrown me about your swingarm is the single plate for the chain guide mount - it's completely different to 88-2001 CR500s.

What's with the texta marks at the linkage mount on the swingarm? I assume they are indicators for clearancing of welds / material?

Thanks for the info guys.
Sure looks like a KLP item. I'll check with them to see if they think it's one of theirs. There are no marking anywhere on the arm and it's never been used. Looks like it was prefitted only. Not sure about the texta marks. Thinking maybe it was going to be cut and modified. Until I get a linkage and swingarm bolt I don't know for sure if it will even fit. So, at this point, hoping it will and hoping its OK. Also, does anyone know if the CR500 linkage was unique to that bike and era? Wondering if the mid 90's CR250 linkage was a shared item?
Cheers

I think the linkages are different, The 88-90 linkage had the “KZ4” part number while the 91-01 linkage used the “KZ3” part number.

I'm a welder and pay attention to technique. The weld looks like KLP. Others I've seen him doo have the wide dime spacing, like on this one.
