CR250 VRP swingarm help

Does anyone have any info on the linkage setup when using a VRP swingarm as the geometry of it is way different than stock. I'm putting a VRP swingarm on a 89 cr250 and it's sitting up higher than stock. Would I need a different linkage setup or is this how it's supposed to sit

Insofar as I'm aware he is/was involved with powerboats, and hasn't produced motorcycle parts for several years. Carlo's craftsmanship is superb, and he's always answered my questions quickly and accurately (and in English!).

I'm probably wrong, but I don't recall reading about different linkage components being needed with VRP swingarms of your era - perhaps you don't have what you think you have, an 89 model one?

However, our resident VRP / Mugen maven, LuckyNino, would almost certainly know what's what. I think amoung his bevvy of Mugens, he's got a Steel frame 88/89 125. Hell, he's got a squillion aluminium framed VRP / Mugens. Next time I'm in Switzerland, I'm gonna mount a commando mission to his workshop...............Evil

The VRP swingarm is half an inch longer than stock. The VRP swingarm was correctly ordered, it just came with minor differences like the chain guide and rear axle but I didn't think the linkage system would change that much over stock. By looking at it, the VRP swingarm uses a different pivot section (the front section of the swingarm) from possibly a 90's cr250.

When you stop by his shop would you mind taking some pictures of those VRP/ Mugen bikes and also a close up picture of the linkage setup to see if it uses its stock setup. I hope it uses the stock linkage and not some custom hand made linkage lol.

It might need a longer linkage arm based off where it should sit (comparing it with my other 89 cr250 that uses a stock swingarm)

This is where it should sit, About half an inch short.

I hope you've got a real VRP - you'll see what I mean when you see the bannana'd VRP fake that was in one of Luckynino's last postings.

I usually go to / through Switzerland at least once a year, so doing a 'visit' to him might be on the cards, normally. But, I've got 3 overseas weddings to attend next year, so doubt I'll get to Europe with time to spare. I'll get to the 2 Indonesian GPs only, I think. And, perhaps the US MXDN. It all depends on what I can work out with 'She Who Must Be Obeyed'............ Moneys tight on my end, and my big event attendance, is down to my being a bit of a 'kept man' next year.
