So what would cause this? Just rebuilt my 01 rm250. Had normal tension on the clutch, pulled it in and put it in first. The bike lunged forward and stalled. Tried it again and it stalled - so the clutch wasn’t engaging properly. Then the kick starter wouldn’t turn the motor over so I assume maybe the spring broke. Pulled off the primary side and noticed three teeth from the gear on the back of the clutch basket broken. The basket is a wiseco but the gear itself is stock - the wisecoe basket has Allen keys where you take the stock gear and mount it to the wiseco basket. The whole assembly only had about 10 hours of ride time before I rebuilt the bike. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated !

Bound upon assembly maybe? That’s an odd issue

Bike ran great on the stand all the way until I put it in gear in the ground and stalled out. I checked the clutch everything was correctly installed and nothing missing. I’m thinking maybe the plates were sticking which prevented the clutch from disengaging and maybe the the gear just broke because it’s 17yrs old and took a few hard hits from being stalled out ? I don’t know though. I’d imagine it takes a lot of force to break the teeth on this thing.
