Any idea on how many hours on this bike? When was the top end rebuilt and were everything in spec (clearence). Did anybody port this cylinder?

I had that happen once, also a yammie 2 stroke. Not nearly that bad, cracked around one mounting bolts, still had to replace. I've never seen anything like that one.

Big time head gasket leak will cause it to hydrolock and cause that. I have seen it many times with jet skis.

That's a good one! Water doesn't compress and had to go somewhere - hopefully the cases are okay.

Premix ratio + coolant leak = piston hole. Even the lower a/f ratio can melt a hole if rich enough.

Bought 2nd hand so don't know the history on rebuilds etc. Compression was fine so I suspect not too many hours on it. Still had original tires as new.
Anyway thanks for all the advise. Will be splitting the casing this week will post more later.
