Any help would be appreciated. Bought brand new 2019 RMZ 250 in August, had less than 14 hours of ride time on it with no racing involved just riding dirt roads and through the woods. Brought into dealer for service. I was told it wouldn't start, drained oil, they noticed metal pieces in oil, long story short, something with the oil pump, telling me that Suzuki won't warranty the bike, they don't warranty race bikes, supposedly they can get me a new motor for$2500 not installed. Picking bike up tomorrow costing me five hundred for labor they have in taking motor apart to figure out problem. Anyone?

That's ridiculous. Start with calling customer service and explain to them what happened. I've seen them cover stuff in the past. I would leave it at the dealer until you speak to customer service also.... don't pay them anything until you talk to someone at Suzuki..
Good luck man.. that sucks, hopefully they take care of you...

What was the reason it went to the dealer? Was it running when you took it in?

That’s bad practice on their part IMO. As a tech myself I would have stopped and contacted you after finding metal in the oil before tearing anything else down.

As a past service manager of a Suzuki dealership ( and several other brands), I found Suzuki to be the most customer orientated brand of then all. They also stood behind race bikes very well. I would suggest contacting the Suzuki customer service manager in your area. The dealer can give you that info. That person will investigate and may even want to see the parts and or ship them back to the manufactor, but in the end you will get a fair shake from them. Give them a chance to make it right.

My question as well,
Was the bike running when you brought it to the dealer?

The Oil Reed Valve assembly cracked and starved the oil pump for oil, on suzuki 250f's and 450f's you have to change the reeds every so often, dealing with this now in a bike im building now.

Good luck mate, get on parts fiche and look up the oil pump assembly. Its sold out everywhere, cause this is a part that needs cleaned and replaced Super often!

Alot of people Cut some carbon Fiber V-Force two stroke petals up and develop there own Reeds so they can be replced often without having to pay Suzuki all the time.
