I am looking for a tire for my 2 stroke that I ride a lot on the track but also ride on mountain single track that is hard rocky and sandy. If you get a Mx 52 or whatever you may get 2 rides out of it before it is completely bald. Is there a tire that is still ok for the track but also wears well when riding on that type of trials? I was looking at the Maxxis IT desert because my buddy has it on his trail bike and it wears really well but he is not a huge fan of it on the track. I also looked at just the Maxxis IT but worried it will wear out too fast. Any other brands ppl would recommend?

I am willing to sacrifice some track performance to get something that holds up better. My theory is after 2 rides on the trails and the tire is at 25% tread a trail tire will be better for the track than the 25%.

Yea they worked just fine. Not as good as mx3s. Tires are specific to the activity. You dont use mud tires to drift your car.

IRC VE-33

I use my 250 smoker in the same manner as you. I have been using this tire for over 10 years with great results.

Dunlop MX3S for soft/intermediate and MX12 for sand/mud. Just changed out a MX3S after 20 hours, and did not rip off any knobs off of it, and I ride pretty darn hard. I am a Vet B/C rider for MX, GP, and I ride single track and 50" ORV trails for training. I suggest proper tire pressure for more longevity.

I had bad luck on my 450 on a mx52. About 4-5 rides on the track and 2 trail rides and the tire was shot.
