I have the 2021 model, and KTM service manual is saying 60:1, but wondering if anyone is having issues, or otherwise with VP T2 (premixed at 40:1)? Thanks guys!

I ran it for a long time with no problems. I rejetted my bike, but I never tried it with stock jetting. Between the oxygen content and the extra oil it might be pretty close jetting wise since stock jetting is so rich. Worse case you'll need to rejet the bike, which there is a big thread that will help you with that.

It's the only fuel I've ran in my 2017 250sx.

I run it in my 13 250sx and love it. Like above you may have to rejet but it’s amazing fuel.

Love the stuff, but its getting mega expensive in California.

I've been running 50,50 Supreme 112 octane and pump recently

Are you guys draining the carb between rides?
If not how long do you let it sit between rides?
I’m going to start playing with some T2 here shortly & see how she runs compared to Sunoco 110 & that was one of my concerns bc I don’t get to ride as much these days.

I've never drained the carb and its sat there for weeks if not months and never had a problem.

If you really care, turnoff pet cock and lean the bike sideways and the carb will empty from the over flow

Bike will like it, your wallet will not. Its is great fuel, may need to rejet it as mentioned above.

Thank you Bruce, that was exactly what I wanted to hear! I’ll make sure to lay the bike down to drain the float as well.

I’ve never had issues with t2 gumming up the carbs. I believe they say to drain between rides so you don’t lose oxygen content. Should go back into the metal can or you’ll lose some performance.

Two words. "Amazing", like the first time I road a 3 fin surf board. Throw it anywhere, instant throttle response, break the rear tire loose when and where you want, which all amounts to the most "fun" on a bike you can have. Only complaint is KTM could have provided us a broader powerband on top, so I added a prociruit pipe and 304 silencer to mine (not the shorty, that was used for supercross back in the day, and this bike doesn't need any help off the bottom in the midrange).

Enjoy!

Wouldn't worry about that. The oxygen is mtbe, it boils at 131 f and the initial boiling point is lower, so more front end will evaporate first.

I thought the MTBE was just a lead substitute & primarily an octane booster but I think I had it backwards as now it is mainly used to add oxygen to the fuel. Thanks again Bruce for the info 👍🏻

Correct....its rhe "ether" part, its oxygenated that chemically supercharges your fuel. It also has octane raising properties... I think it might be the tert butyl part, since it's brached hydrocarbon part like iso octanes...

Ethanol also is oxygen additive, but it mixes with water and imo that can cause other issues.

Pretty damn close explanation Bruce!

Alcohols and ethers are both oxygenates and add oxygen content to your fuel. And since normally aspirated gasoline engines operate at an air/fuel ratio in the range of 12:1-14:1, the more oxygen the fuel can bring to the party the richer the fuel can be to maintain the ideal air:fuel ratio. More fuel should give more power with every thing else being equal.
