Need more power everywhere.
im usually one who just says want a fast bike buy a fast bike and don't go spending 3k on something to try and make it work. That said I prefer the 250f engine character and flick ability that the bigger bikes dont have so I think id rather just put a few bucks into the bike if I can get another 5-7hp across the board.
Saw an old post about a 270 kit making like 15hp more than the stock bike but it was a fully tricked out motor at the same time so no clue what the gains were like with just the 270 kit....
I have a full ti FMF in the mail for my new bike, it feels really out of breath all the time. running lean feeling too.
So im hoping with a 2 stroke filter cage, exhaust and someones big bore kit and hopefully just flash the stock ecu for it it will be what im looking for.
Already have a few hrs on the bike and I love everything about it other than it feels choked up big time. gearing is great for me so its not that.
will also consider some oxygenated race gas if I can literally pour in like 2hp even fi its 20$/gallon

If I wanted a race 250f I’d call Twisted Development. But with what you are looking for I’d imagine it’s going to cost you upwards of $3-$4k.
Like CarlinoJoe says, call Twisted Development.
A built 250f will need pistons every 25 hours.
In my case I have the bigger jug, RnD throttle body, Vortex and the head was massaged just a little, but all set up to run on pump gas. Big jump in Hp, 52 and change peak on the dyno and it pretty much maintained the same power curve, albeit with a small jump in torque.
As far as rebuilds go, I put a new top end in at 52 hours, but definitely could have gone longer. That's a game of chance I just don't want to play, but a big bore in theory puts less strain on your motor. I think a bigger jug and remap would definitely be worth the 1000 or so bucks spent and will be very noticeable over stock.
The Shop
that's on their site for the 270 kit with full motor package http://www.hpracedevelopment.com/ktm1.html
Regardless, you will not be disappointed with a 270 kit and some level of mods.
Im leaning this way.... it just needs a little more punch from 8-14.5k. Happy to increase rpm and reduce life and give it a +1 rear sprocket to give it the same speed per gear. going to try an oxygenated race gas first. it really just needs "unchocked" and freed up for me to be happy.
I got lucky enough to snag the first 350 around.... this 100cc big bore kit will certainly do the trick now lol.
Spending tonight swapping the exhaust and my plastics over. figuring since the market is so in demand I might as well make the move and try it now. maybe only loose 800 or so on my 250 if I can get 9300 back out for it so she's going up for sale.
Thanks for the advice on the 250 mods.
