I’m the furthest thing from a dyno expert but wouldn’t you run it to the rev limiter? Old mate at the computer was telling him to shut it off?

He seemed to be concerned about comparing the HP numbers with the other bikes. Well those other bikes were ran on DIFFERENT dyno's,

Ah Kaplan, the same guy who was say a yz450f with coated stock suspension was a full factory bike.

Dude definitely lives in his own head.

I never knew wolverine was into dirt bikes. He might have got more power out of it if he took it to the rev limiter. It sounded like he backed it off just as it was picking up

No reason taking it to the rev limiter if the power has already started a downward curve, unless you just wanted to see what the numbers are at the rev limiter. Motors typically rev past peak horsepower and peak torque.

I won't argue the point that every dyno is different and comparisons should be done on the same dyno with comparable conditions.

Also something to consider, where do OEM's measure HP at? In the old days most were taken at the crank, not the back wheel. Although Kaplan did say his dyno measured what was advertised on a old ZX-11.
