I just picked up a 2021 Ktm 350 sxf. Watched tech start it after they finished setup and haven’t ran it due to building it to my preference and going through it. I primed it let it sit for a few seconds and found battery was dead. Bought a charger specifically for Lion battery and it was 100% dead. Charged the battery til full and let it sit in maintenance mode for the last week. I had some more work to do yesterday and pulled charger off. I put the charger back on this morning to keep battery fresh and it was down to 95%. Is there something on these news Ktm’s that draws power or is my battery junk?

Is it in a heated garage? Might just be the cold drawing it down?

No, it’s heated. I’m hitting panic mode but maybe it doesn’t stay at 100% when off charger I’m thinking. With no kick start and my first race of the season coming up soon I don’t want to be dealing with this on the start gate. I don’t get how it was completely dead before I charged it after I heard it start at dealership?

Have you called the dealer back?

I will tomorrow, my dealer told me the newer ktm’s are weird with starting as you need to hit starter button and let it prime and then hold the button down to get it to fire up. Does the cold kill these lion batteries quickly?

I have a '21 350 SX-f and I've let it sit for months on end and it will crank right up. My '19 350 never had issues either. I'd take it back to the dealer.

One of mine went flat the first time I brought it home.

Just go ride, I am sure it's fine at 95%
