Sometimes when going through sand whoops or pulling up on the front end, there is a noticeable clunk felt through the bars. Nothing is loose. It’s like the fork is topping out and there is a hard stop. Mostly happens if you just barely clip the top of a whoop with the front wheel.

Any ideas?

Did you torque your triple clamps to spec? Too tight and they can stick not letting the inner tube past it

Is your rebound clicker possibly backed all the way out ? This happened on my KX450, somehow I missed setting them properly after servicing them, mine would give a slight “thud” sensation in the air periodically. With no dampening resistance they would travel to the end of the stroke very quickly

You have air in the inner cartridge. Service them and bleed the cartridges properly and youre good to go.

I got a set of forks back from a suspension guy, and they topped out like crazy. He told me not to worry about it and I stopped letting it bother me.

That’s the proper term- “topping out”. It’s very common with 49mm Showas on Honda dirt bikes. I was hoping the ‘21 wouldn’t do this because it has an updated free piston.

Inner cartridge rod seal could be bad causing the issue
