I have a 05 Honda crf450r just sitting in my garage and was wondering if the Showa forks might work on my ktm150sx 2020 model?
Any idea if it would??

Why would you want to put outdated and inferior forks on your bike, first of all?

I’m trying to get my stock forks working well for me, I just happened to wonder if those forks might be better for me...
I’m a light weight, maybe 120 lb with gear and I’m 54 years old...
I go decent around a mx track for my age and could go better with the forks working right.
If I get them feeling good in the breaking bumps then it doesn’t turn good. If I get it turning good, then it’s very harsh in the breaking bumps...
I really love how this bike handles the corners but the breaking bumps are like a hack hammer......

At 120lb, you should be able to get the aer working well. A good tuner should be able to sort the harshness out. Personally, I'd keep the lightness of the aer front on that 150 bike.

M21 racing, I definitely love how light the front end and bike overall feel!!!!
Feels way lighter than my crf450 did for sure....

One of the issues with aer is shock setup IMO. Thats usually an issue for bigger guys.

When my kid first started on his tc125, we had to get the 3.3 shock spring shipped from UK to get the correct sag values.

On thr forks, imo you would be out of your mind to contemplate the crf450 forks. Its a big job and the aer can be setup very well.
Just adjusting those forks for the different bike weights would be a big deal.

i just fitted MXTECH Lucky cartridges to my '19 150sx because I was having the same issues you describe. All I can say is go to their website now and order a set. Yes they are that good, and under 1000 USD. Dont even bother thinking about a fork swap when you'll lose the brembo and the fork tubes from another bike arent designed for the flex characteristics or rake/trail of the KTM.

Are you referring to the lucky carbon set?
