2019 kx450 shock springs

I’m looking to buy a bike to get back into riding at the end of this week and am heavily considering the 2019 kx450. My question is the heaviest shock springs I can find are 6.3kg is that going to be enoug? I’m a heavy guy weighing in at 285 pounds. Or can I use a heavier spring from a 2016-2017 kx450f? I know they have spring rates for my size for the 2018 Ktm 250sx which is another bike I’ve considered heavily.

I took mine to suspension shop and they change the springs to my weight. I would call a shop and see what they would recommend.

I'm at 5.9 rear and .525 front at 220 so I think something like a 6.3 rear and a .54 front would do the job. I'd call whatever suspension shop you trust though, and find out

.54 is heaviest rate without custom winding I believe. You may be wanting to call fc or race tech and get thier opinions.

Brandon from ahm and factory connection both said they should have something for me. I’m currently stuck with emailing due to work but thank you guys for the replies. Jbulz how is the 5.9 in the rear soft or a little stiff?
