Anyone know what bearing would work in a wheel set from a 16 KX450 to make it work with the larger axle on the 19? I'm not having much luck with bearings being sold by the ID and OD.

What hub are you trying to use? Dubya converted a kite set for me and they can do talon as well.

Call dunya like DB said... they sent me the conversion bearing for my kite hubs.. the Talons only require the new spacers, no bearings needed

I spoke with dubya a few weeks ago. You can do it with talon/kite hubs as the bearings are oversized to begin with. I’ve had zero luck sourcing a bearing based off ID/OD/width measurements for a tusk hub I had on a wheel on a 16 to run on my 19. Those hubs are cheap like 100$ so I’m waiting for them to release a 19 hub and I’ll just lace it to the wheel. Save me time having to machine a new center spacer ect.

You sure they don't have the tusk hubs? The bike they built had them a while ago.

I haven’t seen a tusk one yet. That’s actually the wheel I want to use again

I know this is from years ago BUT do you happen to have a part number for the bearings? I called Dubya yesterday with this exact issue and the guy told me I have to buy a new hub and there is no way I can convert it. Seemed very strange.

Can’t you see the number on the bearing? If you can, go to a place that specialises in bearings or go on eBay.

I can. But I can’t seem to find a bearing with a 22mm ID and 42mm OD to fit the 18 kite hub.

I doubt they’re OEM protected, I’d go to decent bearing company, I’m sure they’ll have one.

He is not looking for an OEM replacement bearing. Those are available all over based on the bearing number and bearing sizes. He is looking for a size of bearing that Dubya was using when the 2019 KX came out with a different sized axle. They basically only used this bearing until hubs for the new model came out to adapt older hubs to the new axle size.

I know of someone who attempted this conversion back then. They got there bearings and spacers from Dubya. Unless they were a special production run, a bearing house as mentioned will be the best place to check.

What I mean is, I’m sure the bearing he’s is after hasn’t been specifically made for Dubya, ie: OEM protected.
