Hi All,

I’ve got both a 2019 YZ250F and 2019 YZ450F, i’ve noticed in recent times especially on Ferrandis’ Star Yamaha that the bottom parts on both sides of the rear number plates are cut off… Is this for looks or does it actually have an advantage / purpose? only have one set of plastics and don’t know whether to try it or not. Cheers in advance, Photos Attached for anyone who doesn’t know what im talking about !

Most people don't seem to have a problem but in just a few hours on my bike I am absolutely destroying the plastics right there. Have not found a good solution yet that doesn't cost a lot of $$$. Afraid to just cut them off as I don't have the FMF guard there with the stock exhaust.

I cut the muffler side because it was melting on me, no guard and no issues. But fmf does sell that guard. Haven’t bothered to cut the left yet but hey it’s weight savings

Here's my 22 with the side panel cut and the FMF Ti guard installed. Simply put a new blade in your utility knife and cut the panel along the seam. I would not recommend trimming the panel if you do not have the guard installed. It WILL burn your boots... This configuration greatly increases grip at the back of the bike too.
