2018 fc450 rockstar edition problems

While riding my new fc450 (1.3 hours) the bike completely died. When I push the starter button the starter relay clicks and thats all that happens. Battery is fully charged, even swapped batteries from my 350 with the same result.

All connections are good, as far as I can tell. I will probably end up taking it back to the dealer, which is 2.5 hours away.

Just wondering if anyone has had a similiar problem, or a suggestion to try before I drive back to the dealer.

Thanks in advance!

Check the 4 prong plug in behind the front # plate to see if they are disconnected or broken. The white one. Push them together and have someone try the starter.

Call the dealer and make sure they unlocked the ECU before delivery. If not, the bike wont run after about an hour. Yes it's happened to other people.

Otherwise, check the ground to the subframe and the power relay (the little one, not the starter relay) is plugged in and tight.

Did it lock up the engine and die? Put it in gear, rock it back and forth and make sure the engine isn't locked up.

Take the bike back to the dealer. Wouldnt risk voiding any warranty you might get.

Yep, there is a "demo" mode that will run about an hour or so. But that should not keep it from spinning over, it just won't start.

Holy shit!!! This fixed it.

Well, I made it about 2 laps and it happened again. At first it would only click when I pushed the button. After a couple of tries the engine would turn over, but wouldn't fire.

Bummer deal man.... Sounds like it's time for that 2.5 hour drive to the dealer...

I didn't think that the bike would stop running if that plug came undone, just the electric starter would not work.

Sorry, this one sounds like a warranty issue.
