2018 KTM SXF top end rebuild

Getting ready to do a piston, ring, cam chain etc. on a 2018 KTM 350 SXF. I believe OEM is a CP piston. Any plus or minus going with a Vertex piston instead. Any recommendations would be helpful. Bike is ridden motocross at pro amateur level. I also see there is a vertex oem and a high compression, if anyone has any in sight on either of these. Thanks!

There is nothing wrong with a Vertex piston, but KTM's are well known to easily go 80-100 hrs with proper maintenance on the stock Piston and rings! I always replace mine with the stock kit and never had a issue with my motor. Just saying.

I have always gone with the oem kit, so I can’t speak on the other brand. It’s more money, but you know exactly what you are getting. This kit (Part# 00050000231) from RMATV comes ready, rings installed and all.

I put one in my 19 350 over the winter, wanted to go Oem but the kit was about 500$ from rmatv. Ordered it over seas from ktm-versande.de for around 300$ shipped. I’m sure a vertex would be just fine also
