Just doing some maintenance on my bike, took it all apart for regreasing, etc. Put the forks back on nice and even then when I go to put my front wheel back on the axle doesn't want to slide though easily because one of the forks is sitting higher then the other one for some reason. The fork tubes are perfectly even in the triple clamps but one of the fork legs is higher then the other one and I can even pull on it and see it come down a few mil but it goes back up when it's released. Anyone know what might be going on here?

I guess you have a pressure issue on your air fork leg... try to pump it up to 13 bar`s and it should extend again and reach same length as the other one... if not go to your dealer, he should be able to help you!

On my 16.5 450 FE, the rt side fork, the non air fork side, sits 3-4 inches lower than my air fork side when removed from the bike, not sure if this means it needs service or not, not leaking oil...when installed on the bike it drops down & mounting the wheel is no problem....I took my Airs off my FE & mounted them On my 15 Xc 300, everything fit right on!

You have an air leak.

Remove the 10mm bleed screw. If a lot of air escapes you'll need to rebuild the inner chamber with new seals.

I've seen it a few times and those forks need to repaired immediately. As Flipsid said your air pressure is leaking into your outer chamber. Don't ride the bike.
