So, my luck sucks. First oil change on my 17 450. .7 hours on the motor. Went to remove the skidplate and the 10mm bolt in the back just spins in the frame. It will not back out, I even tried an impact driver prying lightly between the frame and skidplate to spin it out, no dice. Can somebody post a picture of what the empty bolt hole looks like? I gotta figure out what to do, i am out of ideas. Do I even bother explaining this to the local dealer (I bought out of town, they didn't have leftovers) or do I just cut this plate off and buy a skidplate that has old school frame hangers for the rear?

This is a common problem. There is like a nut on the backside to my understanding. I’ve heard of people getting a screwdriver or something to hold that nut just enough to get the bolt to break loose.

If you search on here there was a good thread about it and a description with photos on how to fix it. Its a rivnut that was not completely seated at the factory. Once you get the bolt out and tighten the rivnut the rest of the way down it should be good.

Heres the link to the post:

Thank you guys, I will fix this tommorow. Got the bolt out today using impact and pressing a flat blade against the "rivnut".
