I have a 2016 husqvarna fc250 and as you may know a lot of them blow up the transmission. I plan on keeping this bike for a few years and know a good deal for a brand new 2017 fc250 motor and was wondering if they would just swap out with no problems? My concern is that the 2017s have traction control and the 2016s don’t not sure if that makes a difference in the ecu/wiring.

I have started a thread below regarding a swap on a 16-17 ktm 450sxf engine for the same reason. What I do know is that the 16 and 17 ecu pin configurations are different, but not sure that it would matter because the sensors should still go to the right places. I would assume that using the 16 engine with a 17 harness and ecu would work and vice versa, as long as the ecu and harness were matched. Be good to clarify though as I am looking at buying a 2016 engine to use as a race engine as long as they can be swapped out and the 2017 harness/ecu used with both.

Why spend all of that money on a new motor? Why not just get the parts in your transmission upgraded? Seems like it would be allot less money.

Traction control/map switch... Mechanically/dimensional wise the motors are the same...
