2015 rm-z250 clutch issues

I recently bought this rmz and it was going great but I realized that the clutch was sticking a little bit in the gears so I tried adjusting the clutch lever play and somehow it made it way worse I looked down at the clutch where the cable connects to the arm and realised the arm wasn’t returning fully back to its position the only think that was moving it was the cable, as I don’t really know much about the clutch is there a spring in there that may have stretched or snapped?

Your clutch cable should have at least 2 adjusters on it. Work with both of them to get a bout the thickness of a nickel play at the lever. Then if you still have issues, you will need to look at the clutch basket for signs of wear. The clutch basket is the most likely wear issues you will find. It may show worn notches and if so the basket will need to be replaced along with the clutch plates both steel and fibers.
FYI: No there is not spring on the clutch cable.
