I bought my bike used, I don't know what or if anything has been done to the damper to keep it maintained. Anything I should look for or change on or in the damper?

You would need to open it up and look at the condition of the oil and sliding surfaces. There’s only a small amount of oil in there and that stabilizer gets worked a lot during riding.

Fresh fluid and seals are typically all that’s ever needed, not much report of them wearing parts.

There are a few companies that offer rebuild services for around $50, might be the best route to go.

youtube and google can show you how to rebuild it, very easy, and benefits with thicker oil
