First time for me on this guys. Just trying to save some money doing it myself. The bike runs great, has good power and starts great when hot but not so much when cold. 1 kick hot, 5-6 cold. Maybe more. The bike is at TDC on the compression stroke and both marks are in line (crankcase mark AND the cam marks)

Both exhaust valves are close. The .11 slides in the left valve and has a smooth, steady drag. Not too much. The right exhaust valve is near the same just a little less drag. I can get a .12 in both tho.

So BOTH intake valves: I can slide a .3 with no drag at all but a .4 won't even thing about going in. Won't even start to go. it feels like a 3.75 but how do I know? The .003 is uber loose and the .004 ain't going in.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

It looks to me like your intake clearances are too tight. Remember even .001" too tight will cause starting and sealing issues. Better to be loose rather than tight.
