Have the chance to possibly get my hands on a 2013 yz250f for a nice price of 500 bucks. The guy was a dune rider so the bike isn't in the greatest shape but he just bought a new oem cylinder and piston. My question to you guys is are those bikes worth keeping for a practice day rider. I know they are slow but I thought about throwing a 270 kit and a few other mods to up the horsepower but keep the reliability that those bikes were well-known for. I would go through and rebuild the whole motor and suspension and replace all chassis bearings so I know it's completely fresh. The only worry for me with the bike is that I will put all this money in to a bike only to find that it is still much slower than a stock new-gen yz250f. What is your guys' opinion between just flipping the bike or keeping it to compliment my two strokes?
By that time you might as well keep it. A fresh 2013 that you know in and out is way better than a 16 thats you know nothing about.
Also, the Boyesen accelerator pump mod really fixed the bog in all but the most extreme situations.
