2007 vs 2008 KX450F KYB Forks

The top ones I think are from the 2006 (I think) and are the same as the funky fork right before the Yamaha SSS forks. Get the ones without the hex in the middle.

I used a set from a 2010 KXF450 on my 2016 KXF450 and they were very good.

Is there a way to distinguish between 2006 and 2007? It seems they both have the hex in the middle of the top cap.

Double check yourself, but '06 was the 1st gen AOS, I believe '07 was 2nd gen like '06 YZ but with raised fork cap, '08 was same as '07 with raised fork cap but got DLC lowers and '09 was same as '08 but with recessed fork cap like the YZ.

06 had chrome bottoms. 07 first year for black bottoms. I think the 08s where similar to 07s but had Kashima Coated dampening rods or something like that. I remember them being very similar. 09 and up are the better forks. I would get those.

I never know how accurate the parts fiche diagrams are. It shows in 08 they moved to the caps similar to the 09-12 bikes, hence my original concern. A bit hard to tell in the images shown but you can see the hex cap is gone in 08. Maybe certain 08's had them changed during the production?
