Bought a 2007 YZ 250 with stock hubs and series 70 pro wheels ? When I bought the bike the axle was what seemed a bit long on both sides. I just figured someone bought a different axle so I went looking on ebay. Bought another for 20 bucks but have the same problem with it. I have the stock spacers but can't figure out why it will not set flush in the lugs. Any suggestions or had this problem before ? Maybe different spacers but what off of ? The rear wheel fits just fine but the front seems like the axle is long for some reason.

Pictures would help a lot. Could be spacers maybe? Have you compared your spaces to stock ones?

I have the stock spacers and axle. Even when the wheel is off the stock axle will not go flush in the lugs. I have a 2008 axle coming from ebay as well as they changed part numbers after 2007. I bought this bike 2 weeks a go on craigs list and they changed out all kinds of crap. The forks are the SSS forks because I had them serviced last week. I will take a picture tomorrow after work and post.

Make sure you are talking the same language at all times: YZ250 and YZ250F meant very different things in 2007. It could be you have the wrong axle.
The axle you need is 1C3-25181-10-00, NOT 5XC-25181-G0-00.

I have the 1C3-25181-10 in fact I have 2 of them. LOL

I know the 5XC-25181-GO was used on the 2007 250F and then starting 2008 was used on the Yz 250 as well. I'm not sure if I should try and find the 5XC axle as well and try it. I'm really stumped on this one.

Stock triple clamps? Were the forks ever changed? Maybe post a picture for reference.

Stock clamps. For some reason I can't post any pictures on here. But the lugs on the 250 are offset.
Maybe someone changed the forks on it.

This is my '06. Does your axle look different? (It's flush with the fork lug on the other side.)
