I am in the process of rebuilding some KYB forks for an '06 YZ125, had to replace the dampening rods, seals and bushings. Upon removing the piston and shim stack from the rod, they went flying! The nut was tightened to much by the previous person so it was difficult to remove the nut.

I thought I found all them but I think I'm missing one shim. To make matters worse, I mixed up a shim from the opposite side as I attempted to figure out if I had everything.

Factory Connection is who I believe was on there last and all the nuts have been off and likely changed the shim stacks.

What options do I have at this point?

if I'm understanding you, in the photo, the top stack is just missing a few shims in order to to match the "correct" stack
shown in the bottom of the photo, right? If that's the issue, just measure the ID, OD and thickness of the missing shims and order them from Racetech.

The bottom compression stack "looks" about right, except for the 5th from the left on the top row. It looks to be an 8 x .15 - 6mm I.D. shim which goes under the sleeve, on top of the washer at the far left.

All the mid valve compression shims are 8mm I.D. shims, except for the spacer shim under the collar, or sleeve. The rebound side are all 6mm I.D. shims.

Without knowing the sizes the count or number of shims fits with the stock stack layout.

Rebound stack 6mm ID;
Piston face
20 x .11 (3)
13 x .11
18 x .11
16 x .11
14 x .11
12 x .11 (2)
10 x .25

Compression 8mm ID;
Piston face
20 x .11 (4)
18 x .11
16 x .11
14 x .11
12 x .15
11 x .3 (2)
17 x .3 (2)
SPRING

With the 8 x .15 / 6mm ID under the collar as a spacer, on top of the cup washer with the cup toward the piston.

Hope that helps.

Yes, this helps a lot! Thank you.

Thank you for explaining the spacer, I will correct that. The stack below the gold rod is the correct amount of shims and should be the correct order, I'm hoping (besides the spacer). With comparing the left to right, they should have the same shim stack, right?

Both sides should be the same. You can always take it apart and measure the shims and note their order.

Yes, that would be correct. I did a little edit to my post indicating the direction of installation. When you are done the compression stack should have a little "float" in it. Meaning you can pull the face shims away from the piston face slightly and the whole stack will go down then return back to the face under the spring pressure.
