Has anyone put an N3EW needle in an 05 YZ250? MXA recommends it for the 05 and 06 and was thinking about trying it out. I'd rather see if it's worth it before ordering one.

Thanks guys!

It’s like $12. What do you have to lose?

The N3EW is slightly richer than the N3EJ that came stock in the bike (slightly thinner straight section). I believe it even came with the bike as an optional needle. MXA recommended putting it in to stop the detonation these bikes had on pump gas. If you are running better fuel or have your timing squared away you won't need the N3EW. I am running the N3CJ in my 2006. It's the same as the N3EJ but the clip grooves are cut 1/2 clip leaner. Bike rips on 100 octane fuel.

I’m running c12 at 40:1. So I guess no need to spend the $12 haha. Thanks for the info man!

Are you detonating/pinging on the stock needle ? Back east where temps are cooler & we have a lot of sand & loam, the yz"s would detonate & ping with the stock needle, the newer n3ew helped but you still needed to run some race gas to be safe. I used to also richen the clip position at deep sand tracks, it would hurt throttle response slightly but it wouldn't blow up from detonation.

No, no detonation at all. Running C12. Was just curious if it was actually worth swapping out if I wasn't having any real issues.
