2003 kx250 forks swap

Hello not sure if I'm in the right spot so tell me if I'm not.
I just bought a 03 kx250 and would love to swap the forks for something newer. The forks on it now are completely toasted and have nicks and chunks missing. I have a 2009 kx450f and a 2012 kx450 can i just swap front end straight across. Thank you any info helps!

If you're also swapping over the triple clamps as well, yes, they will bolt right up without issue. The only thing you'll need to account for is the steering stop. Trick engineering makes a steering stop adapter just for this purpose. Also, you may need to account for different leg lengths of the forks and slide the forks up in the clamps a little to compensate so the bike is balanced.

Im so glad I found this thread… ..I have the same bike and my forks are puking oil… ..im so on the fence as to whether I should swap the forks or get the stock forks rebuilt resprung and revalved. I know they're good forks and if REALLY like to keep the shoulderless rims it came with. Bike has really low hours

Also, keep in mind that if you make the switch over to a KXF front end on an 03 you'll need to play with the front wheel spacers and the front brake line. The 03 KX routes the front brake line under the fork lug and you'll have to buy the newer KXF front brake line.

What if i put my 2009 front wheel, brake caliper, reservoir and brake line
if you swap to the full 2009 front end you should be good to go. Also the braking is improved a ton with the CR style front brake routing so that is an upgrade that should happen regardless.

I put a '13 kx250f front wheel from tusk on my bike that required significant time with sand paper and the wheel spacers to fit.

I have a 03 125 use to have the matching 250 also. Both forks I switched to having the Mx-tech lucky kit in them. The lucky kit puts them at the same level of kyb and cone valves forks. It your thinking about doing a swap I recommend installing these instead. Ship your forks off and they come back ready to bolt on with no need of triple clamps forks or the steering stem bracket.

I've spent alot of time thinking about this when i started my builds this is with out a doubt one of the best decisions i made.

Mx-tech 815-936-6277 at least call Jeremy and ask about them. You won't be disappointed.
