So I’ve had this 2003 125 that I’ve slowly been throwing money at and doing a full rebuild. The 46mm forks are a bit beat up and I would like to upgrade. Any of you have any experience throwing a more modern front end on there? I’ve been looking at forks and clamps on eBay from 08 crf250s and similar years. Any insight on if that should just bolt right up?
Buy a psf1 kyb air fork and save some weight while you’re at it.
you need to mix it up with the right triple clamps
i tried:
CRF250X 2013, it is the showa twin chamber dual spring that comes on CRF's from 2005-2009 (not require any mods) bracket
CRF250R 2012, KYB 48mm dual spring
CRF250R 2017, SFF TAC (require caliper bracket)
and now i am running RMZ A kit forks (require caliper bracket and front axle shim to run your wheel, spacers, axle, caliper)
all will work good for you.
best bang for the buck would be the 250X fork, combine them with rear shock that will fit in perfectly and you gonna see the light.
if you willing to get triple clamps i have red Applied triple clamp that will fit you for the 47mm forks
if you want them for the 48mm it is also possible to bore out the upper clamp
comes complete with steering stem, fat bar mount and bearings.
