A few of you had a ton of info on mating older year crank cases with my '16 engine parts and chassis. Now it's turning out that my cases just might be repairable but I am still left looking for a new (or used) cylinder. There's some older ones available, one in particular is off a 2000 yz250. Complete top end with cylinder, head, power valve assembly and piston. Would this mate up with all other components of a '16? The description say 99-01 but I'm expecting that it may be compatible with other years as well seeing that the cases are. Thanks in advance for any help!

The top ends and gaskets are 100% compatible with slightly different porting and combustion chamber volumes through the years.

1999 - 2002 was the first version of that cylinder and I believe the combustion chamber volume was reduce.
2003 - 2010 minor porting changes and the combustion chamber volume was reduced.
2011 - current
