After the usual simple bolt on mods, pipe and v force, what would be the next best upgrade got get some more bottom to mid? The top end has plenty, I’ve just ridden a few bikes which get to that power quicker/ easier. Thanks in advance

porting, sprocket change, jetting, modifying the squish, fly wheel weight seems to be great for most people.

Head work, port work, stroker crank. You're gonna have to spend money if you want real power gains.

Bottom to mid is a bit of a non-entity on a 150. As they say, there is no replacement for displacement.

Porting gains for mid-top and race fuel is where I am looking to go on my 150sx.

Have you messed around with the power valve spring tension? That can dramatically change where and when the power hits.

I Talk with a German Engine Tuner 3 Weeks ago,and he told me
on the 2011-2015 125/150 Engine you can make
13-16% more Power.

But the 2016+ Models are so good in Stock Form that he can make max. 5% more power with the Full Tuning Program.

So i leave the Bike as it is (SXS Pipe and Vforce 4)
and spend the Money in Suspension Tuning

Mill the head for more compression and run race gas. You'll notice a bump in throttle response and a little ooomph down low, at the cost of some overrev.

Oh, and since I grew up in the MXA days, I can't believe I forgot this mod: go up one size on the rear sprocket! Cool

Porting. Keep in mind that when you take from one side to give to the other.....you lose a bit. Up one or two teeth on the sprocket.

Has anyone really ever felt all that much of a gain from an exhaust? I always wind up replacing mine but it's always pretty blah in terms of gains.

Race gas.....biggest gain for the money

Agree with Moto520. A small sprocket change could make the difference you're looking for while while offering a cheap(ish) solution.

Thanks for the answers, will trying porting, sprocket 1 tooth higher at the back and look to see if I can get a boyesen power wing or similar, can I run race gas on a fairly standard engine? If so which is best? Thanks again

Race gas might help a little, but really your engine will only use however much octane it needs and spit out the rest. It's quite expensive to run that kind of fuel if you don't need it for octane. Oxygenated fuels can certainly help, however.

Yes, you can run race gas in any engine.

If the porting and head mods are done correctly you will gain power everywhere. Contact Terry Varner for your mods.
