1997 Kx250 Steering Stem

I was wondering as all the machine specific kits, as well as kawi's oem site show, are the bearings on the 97 kx250 steering stem just a normal bearing? Like where the bearing has the outer race, the balls, and the inner race? It isn't a tapered roller bearing like most of the new bikes?

It is indeed. A new OEM bearing has a built in seal, also. There is the lower bearing (with seal) and the inner race.

The first year model of the KX250 was 1974. It came stock with... a tapered roller bearing with the seal built in. :-) Soooo, in essence, these new bikes you speak of ARE INDEED like the 1974 KX250!
