Hi guys I could not find the torque for the bolt and I found another bike was 44nm. So I did that well I did not think that’s probably for the bikes that have the big nut and not the bolt and I broke it off. I got it out with a left hand drill bit. But want to ride this weekend. I got a bolt from the hard ware store that fits. It has a flange but still a smaller head than the original. Also the hardness says 10.9. I think that’s kinda hard so maybe to brittle. Would you guys think I could ride for a day with this bolt? I will order an oem one.

If you’re not in a time crunch to ride I would just order a new OEM bolt, but I’ve replaced every since bolt or clamp on my 150 project so I always try to keep it OE or similar quality. I’ll look up the spec for your bike on one of our programs for work tomorrow and let you know if someone else doesn’t by then.

Thanks I appreciate the help. Yeah I have an oem bolt on order but it will be here in 2 weeks. I am supposed to ride Saturday and Wednesday. I do have a 125 I could ride but that’s not as ideal especially the track I’m riding. I kind of feel like it would be okay but not ideal. Realistically that bolt probably does not hold much it’s more to keep the sprocket from rattling off. The splines on the shaft do all the work.

Throw a washer and some loctite on there and you will be fine. Stop overthinking it. Enjoy your weekend ripping.

Perfect haha. I actually switched out the bolt for another I bought that has a flange. I should have put loc tite but did not. I bent the shit out of the tab up around the flange and into the flat part of the head. Got a new one of those on the way.

I’m 29 now and the past couple of years I have gotten real Nervous about mechanical problems. Makes me feel better to have everything right. Don’t want the front sprocket to fall off on the face of a jump or something.haha

If anybody knows the actual torque spec that would be awesome.

Would it be the engine sprocket cover bolt? It’s 11nm.

Not sure about Suzuki, but they can be referred to as countershaft nut/bolt.

Thank you I actually found it. I just missed it when looking.

I’m actually surprised that the torque is 32nm and the oem bolt broke at high 30s. That’s not much over.

Sounds like it may have been over-torqued and stretched previously mate. If it came out easily it’s probably been used a time or two too many.

If the torque is 32nm why would you go to 40 nm?

Because I could not find it at all In the manual because he Suzuki cd manual sucks. So I looked at a different bikes torque spect figure it it would be close.
