Found a guy on FB Marketplace asking $4500 (talked him down from $5000). Bike is in great shape. Has some aftermarket stuff on it like skidplate/handguards/bib mousses, etc enduro type things. Says everything works good. He did say bike has 205hrs on bike with the most “recent” top end having 180hrs on it.

Its what I am looking for, but for that kind of money I want a bike that I have to do NOTHING to for at least a season (besides basic maintenance).

It is 3 30hrs away from me. What do you guys think? Is it worth going to look at? (Usually driving that far means I am bringing the bike home).

Thats a lotta hrs in my opinion. I think in the 45-5500 range u could get one with like 50ish hrs and be much better off. Hes probably a damn fast rider if he does 1-200hrs a year also

True. Only bad thing though is the bikes with 50-80hrs want top dollar for bikes around here. The bike is a great deal but i did consider the hours as well.

With the amount of hours id be looking at a full motor rebuild pretty quick. Top end immediately. Idk how it hasnt blown up with 180 hours on it.

The cranks on these bikes are really good, so it probably has quite a bit of life left in it yet. Off-road dudes are regularly going well over 100 hours on the stock pistons in these bikes, which is nuts considering its a cast piston. I myself am not comfortable with that (and I also ride my 300 pretty hard), but they'll handle it.

I'd be more concerned with the frame feeling roached or having cracks after 205 hours. If its an older person that just trail rode it a ton, its probably fine. For your reference, my friend just sold his 2014 250xc with 250 hours on the crank and 80 on the top end, for $4500 (and people are poor/cheap where I live). The 17+ bikes are better in every regard. If you can find one of these with anything less than 100 hours on it, you're probably going to be paying in the vicinity of $7000.

Don't forget that the suspension probably needs to be serviced, and the bearings all probably need to be replaced (wheels, linkage, etc).

See now we're talking. Even if its across the country pay to ship it. Way rather 18hr bike than 205 like thats not even a consideration to me.

If I was you, I would keep saving your pennies until you can afford a 17+. The difference between the two generations is night and day.

It’s a great bike...I’ve got one. But No Way you get a full season out of it without a rebuild. For the money you’re gonna spend on the rebuild..save up a little longer and buy new. Maybe look for leftovers, even though they are hard to find. Good luck man.
