I would also suggest replacing the water pump bearing as well.

On every bike ive ever worked on you have to get to the seals from the back side of the right side cover.

You should be able to loosen the impeller while on the engine by turning it. You will then have to remove the complete engine/clutch side cover after draining the coolant. If the bike is laid on it's side you may not have to drain the oil, but if on a stand, drain the oil as well. The impeller can be removed from the shaft and the seals and bearing can then be removed. Be sure to note the direction of each part for the install of the new parts. Clean and inspect the shaft for wear. You can put it all back together and then retighten the impeller after the side cover is remounted.
There are videos of this proceedure on you tube.
You will need the side cover gasket and orings, water pump seals, bearings and gaskets, fresh oil and coolant.

might just be good to double check but are you sure its not oil runoff from the oil filter cap. I know sometimes after I change my oil that the cap will seep a bit of oil from whatever oil got on the seal and cap during the change
