16’ 350sxf headshake fix?

Is there a fix to the headshake i experience at high speeds standing up? I dont ride desert but where we ride there are some 4th gear straights on bumpy trails and i find myself getting “butthole puckering” headshake. I looked into steering stabilizers but around you dont “need” them like you would out west. I dont really care to spend $5-600 on a full steering setup just to be able to ride 1 or 2 sections of trail fast. Are there any tricks or things to try?

If the bike is sprung correctly for your weight and sags are set correctly and the dampening is adjusted correctly, this is one of the most stable bikes around. I would be looking into those first.

Things that have worked for me; sliding the fork tubes down flush in the upper triple clamp, this might give up a little corning ability but should help with straight line stability. Now I run 5mm up on small tight tracks and flush on big tracks.

I've also tightened the triple clamp bearing, adding just a little bit of preload (not allot) to where the bars won't fall side to side. This worked great on my KX250, that bike would scare you on a long straight away.

But like Paw Paw said I would get it sprung correctly first and sag set.

Try adding a little more rebound to the front forks, I’ve found that to help me

Front fork rebound adding helps a lot, if still shaky use a PC linkage on the rear and get your sags/ springrate correct.
