100% Goggles Tint “rubs off”?

You would be better off calling them and asking. I have a few pairs of racecrafts with tinted lens, never had the tint rub off.

i havent had this issue. Mine are racecraft goggles tho. Did you make sure to rinse everything off before wiping them? If theres dirt on the lenses it will just act like sandpaper

There was mud all over them, i stuck them under the sink and got the big pieces off and soaked the rest and wiped it with wet paper towels and off it came. Im going to call them up and see what they can do. See if i can get another lens at least.

I always put tearoffs on before even riding. Mirrored lenses scratch easy, i have seen some fade. Tearoffs keep ya from having to clean the mirrored one.

I've had the same issue before.The coating was coming off. I switched to Scott Prospects.

Didnt have tearoffs at the time. I always used them with the clear lens because they scratch super easy. Didnt think 1 ride and a little mud would ruin a $50 pair of goggles when i have worn my cheap stratas without tear offs and no issues.

Yea it sucks, but the mirrored lenses scratch super easy. Stacks of tearoffs are cheaper than 1 mirrored lense.

You were basically running sandpaper across them, its gonna scratch if you "rub" it off. Should be rinsed off under water!

The paper towel must have had some type of cleaning chemical on it? I've found the same thing to heppen using differnt forms of glass cleaner will damage the colored lens.

Had a pair of Fox Airspace that had one ride on the tinted lens. After riding, I rinsed them off with tap water from the sink and sat them on the counter. I forgot to wipe the lens dry. After they air dried, I noticed they were spotted in areas where water had dried on them. Tried wiping with a lint free wipe...no luck. Even tried re-rinsing and immediately wiping them dry and still no luck. Looking at them closer, it appeared the tint had come off in the areas where the water spots had dried. I thought that was odd myself that just tap water could damage the tint. I never took the time to call fox about it but after reading this post, it does have me curious now. I still have the spotted lens so may give them a shout and get their thoughts.

I happen to have a second of the exact same lens that probably have 20 rides on them including 2 grueling mud races...I use at least one tear off, then rinse and immediately dry when within the next day or so after riding. They still look brand new.

The same happen my 2 pairs of 100% goggles after several washes, I normally try leave 1 tear off to stop it happening but it's not always possible. A little annoying but I just ordered new lenses of Ebay, and no issues so far.

It didn’t ruin the goggles, just a lense.

I’ve had the mirror finish come off on a snowboard goggle. Not 100% brand but it does happen depending on where they are made.
